Course Overview
CHC43515 – Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work qualification reflects the role of workers who have lived experience of mental illness as either a consumer or carer and who work in mental health services in roles that support consumer peers or carer peers. Workers are employed in the mental health sector in government, public, private or community managed services.

Entry Requirements
- There are NO previous work or education requirements for entry into this course. Students may enrol directly in the certificate IV level course without completing lower ranked qualifications
- Graduates can expect higher course levels to result in higher potential salary, positions and skill capabilities
Admission Requirements
Students must satisfy the following age, English and Academic requirements:
- Age: must be 17 years or over
- Undertake Pre-Training Review
- Undertake LLN test: Learning, reading, writing, oral communication (ACSF Level 3) and numeracy (ACSF Level 2) is desirable to participate in the course.
Work Placement
- To achieve Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work qualification the candidate must have completed at least 80 hours of work placement as detailed in the assessment requirements of the units of competency
- If a student is unable to find an appropriate work placement, Hammond Institute will assist in finding the work placements
