Course Overview
The Certificate III in Individual Support equips students with the skills and knowledge to provide person-centred care to individuals in aged care, disability, or community settings. Through a combination of theoretical learning and practical experience, students will gain hands-on training in assisting with daily activities, supporting independence and well-being, and working as part of a multidisciplinary care team.

Duration Study Load
This course is available in full-time, part-time, and evening study options, but not all study modes are offered at every campus. Schedules vary based on study mode:

Full-time study: 4 or 5 days per week, 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM, running for 13 to 17 weeks

Part-time study: 3 days per week, 8:45 AM – 4:30 PM, running for 21 weeks

Evening study: 3 evenings per week, starting from 4:00 PM or later, running for 26 weeks (eligibility conditions apply)
Class schedules vary by location, are subject to change, and funding eligibility may differ depending on the study mode.
Delivery
This course is delivered face-to-face at our training campuses, providing hands-on, practical learning in a structured classroom environment. Training is led by industry-experienced trainers, combining theory-based learning with real-world skills to prepare students for work in aged care, disability support, and community settings.
Some study modes may have different scheduling formats based on location.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal academic prerequisites for this course. However, students must:

- Successful completion of this qualification will enable the student to progress to CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support, or to gain employment within an Aged Care Facility or in the Community Services Sector
