Course Overview
Certificate III in Individual Support (CHC33021) qualification reflects the role of workers in the community and/or residential setting who follow an individualised plan to provide person-centred support to people who may require support due to ageing, disability or some other reason. Work involves using discretion and judgement in relation to individual support as well as taking responsibility for own outputs. Workers have a range of factual, technical and procedural knowledge, as well as some theoretical knowledge of the concepts and practices required to provide person-centred support.

Delivery
Delivery structure is comprised of classroom training sessions, structured learning such as training support, learning activities, self-paced (to allow the learners to absorb and reflect on their learning), workshops and work placement.
Entry Requirements
- Applicants are required to be 18 years old and above
- Undertake Pre-Training Review
- Undertake LLN test: Learning (ACSF Level 2), reading (ACSF Level 2), writing (ACSF Level 3), oral communication (ACSF Level 3) and numeracy (ACSF Level 2) are desirable to participate in the course
- Police Check – Students undertaking this course are required to provide a current Police Check with no disclosures
- This course is not offered to International students
Work Placement
To achieve Certificate III in Individual Support qualification the candidate must have completed at least 120 hours of work placement as detailed in the assessment requirements of the units of competency. If a student is unable to find an appropriate work placement, Hammond Institute will assist in finding the work placements.
